Some internet sources that I've found:
If you visit Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah (and the Choir is not on tour), you may attend rehearsals and the Sunday morning broadcast in the Tabernacle:
Please don't email me asking if the Choir will be on tour on a particular week. If I know any tour information, I will post it on the top Choir web page under LATE BREAKING NEWS.
You can write the Choir at:
You can call the Choir office directly at: 1-801-240-3221
In order for someone to join the choir, one must first make an audition tape and send it to the choir office during the first week of January or the first week of July.
"If we like what we hear, then we call them in for a more in-depth audition and interview," Peterson said. "We see how high and low the voice can go, if they can do vibrato as soon as they sing a note, and we interview them about their commitment to the choir, and their family and work situations."
The minimum age requirement for choir members has been lowered from 30 to 25 years old and members are allowed to remain in the choir for as many as 20 years, or until the age of 60, depending on which comes first.
After qualifying as a member of the choir, a 12-week training session called the Temple Square Chorale follows. Members are also required to take a theory exam before and after the training to test their prior knowledge and to see what they have learned from the session.

The new BYUTV channel is carried on Echostar's Dish Network #9403. You must have the DISH500 antenna to receive this channel.
DirecTV is also carrying BYU-TV as of December, 2000. "BYU Television, available on DIRECTV channel 374, will be broadcast from DIRECTV's satellite at the 119-degree West longitude (WL) orbital location and requires an 18-by-24-inch multi-satellite dish and receiver to be received."
The BYU Radio Network broadcasts Music and the Spoken word live at 9:30 AM Sunday, and airs older shows at 3:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and 3:00 AM (Monday)--all times MST. It is carried on Echostar's Dish Network "DISH CD" (audio only) channel 990 (CD31).
When I first joined the Columbia Record Club, I chose a Tabernacle Choir album "Greatest Hits, Volume 3" as an introductary selection. As time went on, I added to my collection of Choir albums, which I played on Sundays instead of my usual rock and roll.
Later on, while shopping at a thrift store, I purchased a few Choir albums for fifty cents each. Each time I returned, I found more albums that I'd never seen before. I started to wonder how many albums the Choir had recorded, so I made a web search to find a list of recordings. To my dismay, I did not find much information of any kind about the Tabernacle Choir.
I was interested in starting my own web page, and noticed that most pages had a "theme" to them. When I set up my first web page, I used my own list of Choir recordings as a theme.
In order to complete my list, I started acquiring all the Choir recordings that I could find. I had never been very interested in the Choir's secular recordings in the past, but have now tried to acquire every recording.
This web page is just a hobby for me--I am not paid for my work. But I feel that it is a valuable resource for fans of the Choir.
